Christine is a Renal Research Nurse at Broomfield Hospital. She attended the first hFRenDS event and was inspired to get Renal, Diabetes and Heart Failure specialists together to share what she had learned:

“When I first started to organise an event in July 2022, I only initially intended for it to be a study day for nurses at Broomfield Hospital.  However, it grew and attracted so much interest that in April 2023, we had a fabulous day hosting 150 health professional colleagues from all three hospitals in our NHS Trust, including consultants, junior doctors, nurses, biochemists, pharmacists and many others. 

The day was free for delegates to attend and included information stands run by the speakers, staff unions, our Broomfield Hospital library team and Mid & South Essex Wellbeing team.  

 I was blown away by the enthusiasm of colleagues who I approached to be speakers and could not have delivered any of this without the amazing support of my research team colleagues here at Broomfield. 

The feedback from staff was lovely and it was great for our three hospitals to come together for a day of shared learning.”
